how can i make a 1 inch paper structure and 12 inches of tape hold as muck wieght as possible?

i have a tech assingnment on this and it is hard!!!!!!!!!!!!
8×12 inch paper masking tape sith grade tech
8×12 piece of paper your evey day printer paper masking tape

Need more detail to answer this. 1″ wide? what size paper do you have? is this in tension? or is it just a weight pushing down on paper?

General rule, circular is always the strongest shape. Also , the smaller the circle the stronger it is. better to use a series of coiled paper than a single coil to hold a weight

additional details:
If the weight you are putting on it is nice and flat , like a brick or cement block, then make a pedestal out of paper, big enough to support the brick or block.

Say for instance it is a cement block, and you need to keep it an inch off the ground. I would take the sheet of paper and cut it into 4 equal length long strips 2″ x 12″.

Fold the 2″ wide strips in half lengthwise so they are now 1″ x 12″ and double thickness.

Using a round (1″ diameter or so) pill bottle wrap the paper around the pill bottle tightly and seal with the tape. Repeat this 3 more times so you have four coiled cylinders of paper 1″ high and 1″ in diameter.

Mow just set the 4 cylinders level on the ground spaced wide enough to support your block at each corner, and GENTLY lower the block onto the upright cylinders.

If you are lucky and wrapped them tight, you might be able to put 2 or three blocks on those 4 coils
