Why would dry dog food cut a working dog’s intestines?

I have to do a science project. I know that it has to do with the corn base that acts as knives to the stomach/intestines but I need more. Thanks

dogs that pull strain their muscles, and they clench around the stomach which can cause the food to puncture the lining of the intestine/stomach. i’ve heard its a problem with sleddogs since they are pulling against the harness, which is why real meat is better to feed them while they are working than kibble.
