Where was the Hockey Mask and Chain saw bit started?

I know this is a stupid question, but where did it start with the chain saw, and hockey mask it’s in friday the 13th, bloody murder, freddy vs. jason…etc. but where does it all go back too?

The hockey mask in the Friday the 13th movies begins in either part 3 or 4. Jason finds the mask during his bloody rampage and I assume he likes the look. Before then Jason wore a bag over his head.
