Should emergency vehicles be equipped with towing connections as army vehicles are? re ten yr. toronto snow an?

As a army mechanic in about 1963 – 64. It was my job to ensure a convoy of vehicles made it from point A to B. One six wheel drive truck lost its engine. I fastened it on a “A” frame behind another same size vehicle. Another lost its breaks and I connected a bar with two loops to it in front of the truck I was in. With a maximum 30mph speed limit the middle truck pulled the one behind and with its efective air over hydraulic breaks was the breaks for the front truck when the front driver signaled to break. Mal Lastman coragously called in the army for the snow emergency. If ambulances and other emergency trucks had places to hook up an “A” frame to the front of them without actuating or disabeling the air bag system an army type vehicle or a snow plow with a heavy hook type trailer hitch could haul it through the snow safely. A little thinking ahead can prepare for emergencies.

Yeah that is for sure. I guess that it would be possible for emergency vehicles, but I guess that it would depend on which way the vehicles were going and in what the situation was.
